Gothic Lineage Feats

There are all sorts of monsters lurking in the dark. You happen to be one of them. Perhaps you were born from death, to drain the life from others, or maybe a hag chose you for her protégé.

Aquatic Arcana

Prerequisite: Hexblood

Your lineage is steeped in the salt of the sea or the grime of the swamp, created by sea hags or green hags. When you take this feat, you step into that power and gain the following:

·        You gain a swim speed equal to your walking speed.

·        You are able to cast illusion spells with verbal components while underwater. Without any ill effects.

Dead Sleep

Prerequisite: Dhampir or Reborn

Death almost claims you when you close your eyes, even if it's only for a little while. When you take this feat, you gain the following benefits:

·        Increase your Constitution score by 1, to a maximum of 20.

·        When you complete a long rest, you lose 2 levels of exhaustion instead of 1.

·        When you complete a short rest, if you expended any hit die, gain temporary hit points equal to the amount of die spent.

Hags Healing

Prerequisite: Hexblood

Like the Night Hags who created you, you have been able to craft a cure to disease and a symbol of power; a heartstone. While yours is not as powerful, not being a true hag, you still gain the following abilities while it is on you:

·        You are able to cast the spell Lesser Restoration, at 2nd level, without expending a spell slot. You can do this a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus.

·        As a reaction when you’re hit with a weapon attack, you can make yourself partially ethereal. Reducing the damage you take by half. Once you’ve used this reaction, you must complete a short or long rest before you’re able to use it again.

Hex of the Hag

Prerequisite: Hexblood, Level 8

You have learned how to channel your power into your hex magic, creating a more potent misfortune for your foes. When you cast the spell Hex you can pick a Saving Throw to give disadvantage on instead of an Ability Check. Once you have used feat, you must complete a long rest before using it again.

Jaws of Defeat

Prerequisite: Dhampir

When your life is threatened, you’ve learned to channel into your dhampir hunger. When you are reduced to 0 hit points, you may one bite attack against any creature within your melee reach.

Rest of Remembering

Prerequisite: Reborn

You dream of lives lived, occasionally clinging to those memories when you wake. When you complete a long rest, you may swap one skill or tool proficiency you have with another.

Spirit Whisperer

Prerequisite: Dhampir or Reborn

Created from death has given you a familiarity with the other side. You learn the spell Speak With Dead, which you can cast once as a 3rd level spell, without expending a slot. You regain the ability to do so after completing a long rest. You can also cast this spell using spell slots you have of the appropriate level.

Additionally, when you cast this spell, you are able to ask 6 questions instead of 5.

Watery Witchcraft

Prerequisite: Hexblood

Your hag origins come from the terrifying sea hag, channelling their powers over fear and their connection to the ocean. You gain access to the Shape Water cantrip.

You also learn the spell Fear, which you can cast once as a 3rd level spell without expending a spell slot, regaining this back when you complete a long rest. You can also cast this spell using spell slots you have of the appropriate level.

Your spellcasting ability for this feat's spells is Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma (choose when you select this feat).

Violent Hunger

Prerequisite: Dhampir

You feel the urge to feed more than most, and push yourself to extremes to do so. When you take this feat, you gain the following benefits:

·        Increase your Constitution score by 1, to a maximum of 20.

·        The damage you deal with your Vampiric Bite trait is increased to 2d4.

·        When you have no uses remaining of your Empowered Vampiric Bite, you may expend 2 hit die to use it again.
